Working Together With Our Community
The House on the Corner Community Project exists to improve the quality of life of individuals and families in areas of high deprivation. We aim to relieve distress and social isolation through inclusive activities and support services — with focus on older adults — while also providing therapeutic support and personal development opportunities for children and young people. Our programmes are designed to enhance wellbeing, build confidence, strengthen relationships, and foster active participation in community life.
Over the past year, The House on the Corner Community Project has continued to provide all core services, supporting older and vulnerable people through regular activities that reduce isolation and improve wellbeing.
Highlights from the last 12 months include two coach trips to see Robin Hood at Birmingham Hippodrome, a seaside trip to Llandudno, and a Christmas meal at a local garden centre, providing social connection and memorable experiences for those who might otherwise be unable to participate.
We are fortunate to receive support from a wide range of funders, including The Tudor Trust, The Roger and Douglas Turner Charitable Trust, The Eveson Trust, The Woodstock Trust, Grantham Yorke, The Marsh Christian Trust, The Dorcas Trust, WE Dunn, The Grimmitt Trust, The Edward Cadbury Trust, W A Cadbury, Patrick, HSBC, The Langdale Trust, The Gowling Trust, The Baron Davenports Charity, The Goodman Trust, The Casey Trust, The Dumbreck Trust, The Leigh Trust, and The Alchemy Trust, as well as other generous donors who wish to remain anonymous.

Our Community Groups
That’s why we work closely with local community groups, schools, and partner organisations to ensure the people we support don’t just receive counselling, but also feel part of something bigger.
MONDAY - Young at Heart Over 50s Group 12pm-2pm
WEDNESDAY- Breakfast Club 9am- 12pm
FRIDAY Stay and Play 10am- 12pm
What this means in practice:
- Helping adults re-integrate into community life after periods of isolation or crisis
- Supporting children to build friendships and thrive at school
- Connecting people with local resources, groups, and opportunities that encourage belonging and confidence
- Building strong relationships with other services so no one falls through the gaps
This joined-up approach makes therapy more effective and helps every individual — adult or child — find their place, rebuild relationships, and grow stronger within their community.
The House on the Corner isn’t just about individual counselling sessions — it’s about community support that lasts.
